Melvin Huff Sr., 71, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1950, in Morgantown, a son of the late Evelyn (Joseph) Host.
Melvin was the longtime owner of Huff’s Auto Repair and served his country in the United States Army. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cheryl Huff; children, VelaDona Yocum and her fiancé John W. Woods and Melvin Huff, Jr.; granddaughter, Hana Yocum and her boyfriend, Lanc Bednar; and siblings, Troy Host and his wife Marilyn and Vicky Lowe and her husband Jerry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his father, Gay Host.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home and a private family committal service with full military honors will take place at the WV National Cemetery at a later time.
