PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Morgantown High wasted little time taking control against Baldwin (Pa.), rolling to a 49-0 victory behind a dominant defense and a five-touchdown effort by junior quarterback Maddox Twigg. The Mohigans built a 49-0 lead by halftime, allowing the starters to sit out the second half after putting the game out of reach.
Twigg led the offensive explosion, accounting for five total touchdowns. He rushed for 84 yards and four scores on five carries while completing 5 of 8 passes for 132 yards and another touchdown. His ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs kept the Baldwin defense on its heels as Morgantown repeatedly found the end zone in the opening half.
While Twigg powered the offense, the Mohigans’ defense delivered a statement of its own, shutting out Baldwin and limiting the visitors throughout the contest. Senior linebacker Kane Williams added to the defensive dominance with a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown, turning a defensive takeaway into another score and helping Morgantown continue to build its commanding lead.
Junior Lyric Blake capped the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run, completing Morgantown’s 49-point first-half performance. With the shutout secured and the starters pulled at the break, the Mohigans showcased their ability to dominate on both sides of the ball, combining Twigg’s explosive production with a defense that never allowed Baldwin to score.
