Requirements for masks on PRT, university buses eased

As of Wednesday, passengers on WVU’s Public Rapid Transit (PRT) cars or buses no longer need to mask up to ride.

This is pending any additional guidance after a federal court ruling this week.

While face coverings are no longer required, masks are welcome and remain an important preventive measure against COVID-19. Anyone who needs or chooses to wear one is encouraged to do so.

Additionally, travelers should closely monitor other providers’ transportation guidelines, which may vary, as well as policy differences for domestic and international flights, depending on the destination and airline.

For personal safety and the safety of others, students and employees should not ignore symptoms of COVID-19. Those with any COVID-19 symptoms should not report to campus for work or class.

All WVU community members are required to report if they test positive for COVID-19 or are quarantining due to suspected or known exposure to COVID-19. In Morgantown, students and employees should report their positive results to CareServices@mail.wvu.edu.

COVID-19 and related questions can be submitted or sent via email to returntocampus@mail.wvu.edu.
