Profile by Stanford hosts virtual 5K May 13-16

MORGANTOWN — Feeling the itch to hit the pavement? You’re not alone. That’s why Profile by Sanford launched a nationwide virtual 5K scheduled for May 13-16.

“The pandemic has made it challenging to gather large groups of people together to participate in typical 5K events. Our virtual 5K gives people the opportunity to get active, any way they are able to, and join our community of health and wellness alongside friends and family.” said Steve Herrmann, Profile’s senior director of innovation and research.

“We are excited to offer a fun, community event that offers people to get a taste of what Profile is and the community feel that we create with our members.”

With each $40 registration, you’ll receive a few Profile items to sample, a workout playlist and a race training plan. In addition, Profile will donate 10 meals to Feeding America for each person signed up.

What is a virtual 5K?

A virtual 5K is about being healthy, having fun and accomplishing your personal goals. It is 3.1 miles and is a challenge that participants can run, walk, treadmill, bike from your neighborhood, a nearby park, or any location you choose. Complete the 5k by yourself, with your dog, or with friends and family. A virtual 5K provides the freedom to run your own route on your own time. Share on social media using the #Profile5kAnyWay
