An inmate who escaped from Mon Health Medical Center last week  died Monday.

Thomas Lee Fincham, of Fairmont, was driving a reported  vehicle stolen from Princeton on Monday, when the 51-year-old pulled into a driveway of Pride Ridge Manor in Marion County, yelling for help, according to a release from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office.

The report says a person nearby began performing lifesaving measures, but Fincham was found unresponsive and ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Riffle said in the statement that Marion County deputies and  Marion County Rescue Squad responded.

Fincham was in a vehicle chase with the Pennsylvania State Police on Sept. 2, when he entered Monongalia County. He was apprehended on Darnell Hollow Road and taken to the hospital, where he was able to escape the morning of Sept. 3. Fincham was facing charges in  Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
