Kingwood city clerk resigns

KINGWOOD — Kingwood City Clerk Kayla Huggins resigned, and the city is advertising for a replacement.

Mayor Jean Guillot said Huggins submitted her resignation Tuesday. He would not comment beyond that.
Huggins could not be reached in time for this report.

Huggins succeeded former clerk Mary Howell, who resigned in March 2019 after three years as clerk. Prior to that, Huggins served as the town’s municipal clerk, which is a different position than city clerk.

An ad on the city’s Facebook page says applications will be taken until May 8.
