Robert Lee Howdershelt, 88, of Bruceton Mills, passed away in his daughter’s home in Morgantown, Friday, June 26, 2026. He was born in Bruceton Mills October 5, 1937, the son of the late Robert Franklin and Sophia Mae Nestor Howdershelt.
Bob graduated from Bruceton High School, became a carpenter and a farmer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by is wife, Ruth Ann Friend Howdershelt; a son and his wife, Kevin and Donna Howdershelt of Morgantown, a daughter, Debra Howdershelt, of Morgantown; a grandchild and his wife, Jeffrey and Halee Howdershelt; two greatgrandchildren, Jadalynn and Reiner Howdershelt; four sisters, Jean Groves and husband Donald of Bruceton Mills, Judy Phillips and husband Neil of Dilliner, Darlene Bonievich of New Stanton, and Phyllis Cox of Dilliner.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and William Howdershelt; and an infant sister, Elizabeth.
Family and friends were received in the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville- Bruceton Mills Tuesday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday, July 1, from 10 until the time of a service at 11 a.m., with Hospice Chaplin Jeremy Cordova officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
