Patricia “Patty” Ann Tekieli, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah. Born July 14, 1935, in Rachel, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Kose and the late Josephine Vingle Kose, and the wife of the late Theodore Tekieli. Patty was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kose.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Haines (Mike); sister, Carolyn Pasko; and brother, Nick Kose (Annette); sister- in-law, Natalie Bush; her granddaughters, Leah Haines and Annalise Haines; and many nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Patty worked for many years as a factory worker for Westinghouse / Philips, where she was respected for her dedication and dependable work ethic. She approached her responsibilities with the same care and commitment that she brought to every part of her life. Her years of work reflected her strong character and her willingness to do what was needed for those she loved.
A woman of faith, Patty was Roman Catholic throughout her life. In her youth, Patty attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, and later in life she attended St. John University Parish until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and it provided her with comfort and guidance through the years. She carried her beliefs with quiet devotion and lived in a way that reflected her values.
Patty also enjoyed the many small pleasures that made life meaningful. She loved cheering on WVU Football and the Kansas City Chiefs, and she followed them with enthusiasm and loyalty. She enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars and her favorite entertainment news shows, finding enjoyment in the familiar and the entertaining. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and those moments were the ones she cherished most deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in Patty’s memory, to Pet Helpers, 726 East Park Avenue PMB 311, Fairmont, WV 26554.
