Margaret Washington Waycaster, 95, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026. She was the daughter of William and Miriam Washington.
Margaret taught first grade at Woodburn Elementary for many years.
In addition to spending time with family, Margaret loved to work puzzles, and watch Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and sports.
Margaret attended Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Covenant Global Methodist Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Neal Waycaster; brothers, William Washington and James Washington; and sister, Anne Hagood.
Survivors left to mourn include but certainly are not limited to sons, Donald Waycaster (Linda) and family, Richard Waycaster (Deb) and family; daughters, Anne Haddox (Gary) and family, and Catherine Schultz (Bob) and son; brothers, Emory Washington (Betty Lou) and Robert Washington (Ann); as well as sister Mary King and sister-in-law, Emily Washington; and many nephews and nieces.
Private graveside services will be held Friday, April 24, and a celebration of life service, where all are welcome, is set for Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. in the Covenant Global Methodist Church, 802 Greenbag Road, Morgantown WV 26508, with pastors Nate Williamson and Sean Wightman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the building fund for the Covenant Global Methodist Church.
