Franklin Rush Harris, 92, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in his residence.
He was born in Clarksburg January 20, 1935, a son of the late Russel Greene Harris and Madge Boyles Harris.
Franklin was a Methodist and was the Northern Regional Coordinator for HRDF. He was also in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a past commander for the American Legion, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a past master of Lodge #3.
Franklin owned the Fox Lounge in Morgantown, and owned a Sprint Car.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Ann Tennant Harris of Williamstown; four children, Rebecca Garvin (Kent) of Morgantown, Michael Amick of Louisville, Ky., Joel C. Harris of Phoenix, Ariz., and Misti Bright (Duane) of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Carolyn Nesselroade of Bridgeport, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Ian and Jared Garvin, Leah Bright, Nicholas Wasmer, Daniel and Eric Tennant, Cole Amick, along with nine great- grandchildren, Mollie Haley and Faithlyn Haught, Kaden Simpson, Jaylynn and Mazylyn Tennant, and Hayden, Nicole and Hunter Michael Wasmer; great- great-grandson, Theodore Haught; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Beau Michael Wasmer.
Visitation will be from 3 until the time of services at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with the Reverend Frank Miller officiating.
