West Virginia football is back on the boards. The Mountaineers earned a commitment from defensive lineman DaJour Webb for the class of 2027, he announced on his social media. He chose the Mountaineers after fielding offers from Kent State and Akron.
This is WVU’s third commitment for the class, but he’s its only one as of now. 3-star linebacker Minikon Johnson decommitted in November, and then 4-star running back Armand Hill did the same at the end of January.
Webb is a 6-foot-3, 330-pound defensive lineman, according to his social media page. The Pittsburgh native recorded 40 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in his junior season. He was named to the WPIAL Northeast Conference first team and led his team to the WPIAL Class 5A final in 2025. His school won it in 2024, securing him his first championship.
Webb should be the first of many high school players to come for the class of 2027. There are multiple high school recruits taking official visits throughout the spring, and the spring game on April 18 should be a big draw. Rich Rodriguez has noted that he’s going to primarily build this program through high school players, and he kept his word, bringing in a 2026 class with almost 50 players. The 2027 class should be similar.
