Rita Irene Dunn Costilow Towns, 90, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Sundale Nursing Home.
She was born January 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Sheridan S. and Bessie J. Menear Dunn.
Rita was a healthcare giver and cared for others throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Castilow Harman; stepson, Kevin Towns and wife Paula; sister, JoAnn Smith; grandchildren, Samuel Harman, Lucille (Lucy) Harman, Amanda Quinn and husband Philip, Amy Boggess and husband Keith; and six great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Barton Costilow; and her husband, Gerald Emil Towns.
Donations, in her memory, may be made to Sundale Nursing Home, 800 J D Anderson Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505; or Morgantown Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Road, Suite 250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
Friends and family will be received for both Rita and Jeffrey in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Saturday, February 7, from 2 until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Lawrence Rebelo officiating.
Private inurnment for both Rita and Jeffrey will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
