Alexis William Puher

Alexis William Puher, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, with his wife and faithful dog, Wolfie at his side. He was born in Greensburg, Pa. and was preceded in death by his parents, Wasyl and Olga Puher; and his loving sisters, Lillian and Dorothy Puher.
Alexis attended the University of Pittsburgh and remained a loyal fan of Pitt football (despite living in Morgantown) and the Pirates. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Alexis became a contractor for the Department of Energy, and this brought him and his family to Morgantown.
Our dad dedicated his life to being the kind of wonderful father who you simply can’t define with words. Generous, kind, and loyal were just some of his attributes. Other men had hobbies, but our dad instead dedicated his life to his four children. Because of this constant unwavering support and love, three of his children are physicians and one is a dedicated nurse. He was very proud of this.
Alexis is survived by his wife, Leonor, of 53 years; and his children, Dr. Melissa Puher and husband William Jackson and their sons, Wylie and Sam; Dr. Rebecca Puher; Alexis Puher, Jr. and his son, Dustin; and Dr. Stefanie Puher and husband Dr. Greg Yost and their daughters, Riley, Juliana, Charlotte, and Madeline.
Our dad will always be deeply loved, and we will never forget all that he has done for us.
Honoring his wishes, cremation was arranged by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home.
