Virginia Porter

Virginia Porter, 91, formerly of Star City and McMechen, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Morgantown.
She was born November 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Alex and Irene Fankhauser Hawkins.
She worked in Medical Records at OVMC, was a member of First Christian Church in McMechen and Order of the Eastern Star, Moundsville Chapter #86.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Porter.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick D. (Kim) Porter of Marysville, Ohio, and Charles E. (Perri DeChristopher) Porter of Star City; one daughter, Rena L. (Rodney) Carney of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nicholas Carney, Sydney and Chase Porter, Hannah, Hayley and Shane Wilson.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where a funeral service will be held Friday, December 12, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating.
An Order of The Eastern Star service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m.
Interment at Halcyon Hills following ceremony.
