Donald Rinehart

Donald Neil Rinehart, 48, of Ridgeley, joined his father and his heavenly father on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023. Donnie was born on May 16, 1974, in Morgantown, raised on the family form in Aurora, and spent most of his adult life in Ridgeley.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jacqueline L. (Brooks) Rinehart, of Ridgeley; his mother, Jean (Patterson) Rinehart, of Aurora; one daughter, Amie Dawn Chandler and her husband Matt; a grandson, Damien Donald, of Winchester, Va.; stepchildren, Dean, Tanya and Samantha; and one step-grandson, Levi Rosenberger, all of Ridgeley; his sister, Debra A. Stone, of Terra Alta; a special friend, Donnie Friend, of Terra Alta; and a brother-in-law, Adam Stone, of Rowlesburg; a niece, Jennifer Taylor and her three children, of Utah; nephew, Jeremy and friend Kayla Nelson, of Morgantown; and many aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Randy Rinehart; maternal grandparents, Okey and Mary Lou Patterson; and his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Mary Rinehart.

Donnie was a happy, fun, loving and giving person from youth to manhood. He was always willing to help others “because it’s the right thing to do.” There was very little he couldn’t do. After a little thought, he could improve, invent or come up with a better or easier way to get things done. He spent hours in his garage working on vehicles, bikes, 4×4’s and anything with an engine, mechanical or electrical, usually for others. He owned his own business for a while, 4 Fingers Auto, that was always the favorite hangout for all his numerous friends.

Donnie was employed by the town of Ridgeley. He loved growing up and working on the family farm. Other passions included spending time with family, friends, camping, floating on the river, history, hiking in the woods and animals.

Friends will be received at the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, with Pastor Sabrina Tenney officiating. Interment will follow at the Stemple Ridge Cemetery.
