Ronald N. Smith, 79, of Arthurdale, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at home.
Ronald was born in Arthurdale, on May 29, 1941, a son of the late Noble and Olive (Hall) Smith.
He worked as a bulldozer operator on many construction jobs. He also owned and operated Smith’s Garage in Arthurdale. His true love was for cars. He drag raced at a young age with his 1959 Corvette. He then raced stock cars in Morgantown, Fairmont and Elkins. He loved to paint cars and painted many for his friends. He treasured a ‘53 Ford that he restored and painted. He was a member of the Reedsville Volunteer Fire Department for 37 years.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Sharon A. (Johnson) Smith, of Arthurdale; one son, Matt and Mary Smith, of Arthurdale; one daughter, Natalie and Shawn Jennings, of Independence; two grandsons he adored, Jacob Smith, of Morgantown, and Taylor Jennings, of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Sandra and Soli Irani, of Katy, Texas, and Mary and Jack Forman, of Arthurdale; and his two beloved pets, Boomer and Gracie.
To honor his request, he will be cremated with no services. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Field Funeral Home in Masontown.
