What a local business is thankful for this year

This year we are grateful for our outstanding staff, continued community support and for customers who feel like family.

Thank you for continuing to put a smile on our faces every time you walk in our doors! We can’t wait to see what the next year brings!

Happy holidays from The Levels Arcade Family.

HomeStart Closet grateful for donations

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, I would like to give thanks for our Morgantown community’s support of the International HomeStart Closet.

The Closet has been around since the 1990s and its mission is to help newly arrived international students establish a home in Morgantown with gifts of basic household items. With the support of WVU’s Office of Global Affairs, it is now housed on the downtown campus and this semester has seen an unprecedented number of requests for help.

We are grateful to the many individuals who have responded to our plea for help by giving household items or volunteering their time to help organize the Closet, collect donations and deliver to students. Most of these students come from warmer climes and are not yet used to our cold weather, so we were particularly glad of the blankets and comforters donated to us as the first cold snap hit. We expect a new crop of international students in January and may well need to reach out for help again. If you’d like to make a donation, please email me at liz.finklea@gmail.com.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support this year and please continue to help us to do what Morgantown does best — make new arrivals feel welcome.
