Dancing Elephant Productions to bring ‘High Spirits Under the Big Top’ to Met

MORGANTOWN — Get tickets now to giggle and blush a little with Dancing Elephant Productions at the Metropolitan Theatre on High Street for the “High Spirits Under the Big Top” vaudeville-style burlesque show set for 8 p.m. Sept. 17-18.

For a $10 general admission ticket, attendees will witness train robbery hijinks, a beautiful fortune teller, sultry sisters separated at birth and classic Dancing Elephant reveals, vaudeville skits and circus-esque acts.

This is Dancing Elephant Productions’ second appearance at the Met, having performed on its stage in September 2019.

The 501(c)3 organization strives to provide tangible theatrical experiences for the whole community with Arts for All and Sunday Morning Coming Down programming, and any profit from the High Spirits show supports that mission.

According to founder and producer, Nicole Davis, Dancing Elephant Productions exists because she wanted to share the classic art forms of vaudeville and burlesque with a modern audience and offer people the opportunity to experience the connection and creative outlet theater gave to her for most of her life.
“Theater offered me respite and escape hundreds of times in the last 24 years,” Davis said. “I wanted to make sure as many people as possible have an opportunity to feel that good and that connected.”

The troupe likes to encourage others to “give until it feels good.” Tickets for the Sept 17 show are available at

Note that COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed at the Metropolitan Theatre. There is limited seating available. Wearing masks that cover noses and mouths is encouraged.

This show has a lot of adult content and organizers strongly suggest audience members be 18 and older.
