After months of work, there’s an end in sight for the  Killarney Drive bridge replacement.

The work is being performed by Green River Group, at a cost of $282,215, according to Morgantown Utility Board Communications Director Chris Dale. Project costs are being shared equally between MUB and the City of Morgantown. The contractor expects the work to be complete in mid-October.

Work includes the demolition and removal of the existing failing bridge, followed by the installation of 35 linear feet of a 13-foot-by-6-foot precast box culvert (this includes seven sections of the box culverts, each weighing roughly 17 tons); installation of a precast headwall; casting in place a headwall to tie into existing structures; and restoration of the surrounding roadway and property.
