Frances Ann Buchanan, 84, of Morgantown, and most recently Smithmill, Pa., passed away Tuesday Sept. 8, 2020, at the Tyrone
Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1935, in Dola (Harrison County), she was the daughter of Paul Robert and Mildred Gay (Steele) Drain. She had been employed by the former Freezer Queen Frozen Foods in Buffalo, N.Y. and also had worked at Rite Aid Pharmacy Stores.
Surviving are four children, Barbara Lee Powell, of Buffalo, N.Y., Sandra K. Hallman and husband Orville Jr. and Cheryl Buchanan, both of Smithmill, and Jack S. Buchanan and fiancée Tracy Esposti, of Houtzdale, Pa.
Also surviving are
10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Pauline Robson, Jack Drain and wife Judy and Donald Drain, all of West Virginia, and Robert Drain and wife Diane, of East Otto, N.Y.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dolly Hostutler; and brothers, Ronald and Darius Drain; a nephew, Tim Hostutler; and one great-grandson, Devon Mercer.
There will be no public visitation and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Beverly Hills Cemetery in Morgantown.
