Tina Avery

On Aug. 27, 2020, Tina Marie Avery passed away at the age of 47 due to injuries from an automobile accident.

Born on April 23, 1973, in Jacksonville, Fla., Tina was the daughter of Richard and Rebecca (Phillips) Macheca, of Clarksburg.

A loving wife and mother of five, Tina’s life was devoted to faith, family and friends. She loved to homeschool her children, cook, crochet and travel with her family. Tina had a magnetic and genuine personality that drew friends and strangers alike to her and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She made anyone within earshot laugh with her funny stories and witty sense of humor. Tina touched so many lives.

Tina is preceded in death by her brother Nicholas and her grandmothers, Anna Phillips and Jeanette Plasky. She is survived by her husband, Reed; her five children, Truman, Eleanor, Linus, Adelaide and Clementine; her brothers Donald, Philip and Richard; her sisters, Debi and Dawn; her cousin, Amy Cottrill, who was like a sister to her; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved deeply.

Please note that there has been a change in visitation and service times and locations at the request of the family.

A visitation with Tina’s family will be held at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown from 1–3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. Guests are asked to limit their time with the family at the funeral home to 15 minutes or less.

Following the funeral home visitation, friends are asked to meet the family at the Morgantown Church of Christ, 361 Scott Ave., Morgantown beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, Sept. 2 for a memorial service in her honor with Past Brad Schrum officiating.

Face masks or face coverings are required if attending the visitation or memorial service.
