Hoot and Howl Window Smashed in Crash

Police are looking for the driver of a rental car that crashed into the front window of Hoot and Howl on the corner of Walnut and Spruce streets on Sunday.

The car is a silver Nissan with a Virginia license plate number UTB-7824, according to Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston. The vehicle will have significant front end damage and the front bumper is entirely missing.

MPD officers were called for a car bumper on the sidewalk about 3:30 a.m., Preston said. It looked like a vehicle crashed into a business on the corner of Walnut and Spruce streets.

The Morgantown Fire Department secured the store, Preston said.

Hoot and Howl thanked MFD for boarding its window up on its social media pages. The store said the crash happened around 2:45 a.m.

On Sunday, it posted the damage was cleaned up and and they were waiting on an adjuster.

The owner of Hoot and Howl did not wish to comment because the case is still being investigated.

Additional information will be released as the investigation continues, Preston said.
