WV Nerd Herd hosts potluck at Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming

A herd of nerds came together Saturday at Four Horsemen Comics and Gaming to share food and have fun. Before you get offended — this is the name a community of board-gamers in the area has dubbed themselves.

The WV Nerd Herd hosted a potluck and game day at the Morgantown Mall business, which is something store manager Kaleb Davis said they often do this time of year.

“We do potlucks after big family holidays, and people bring leftovers and come hang out and play games,” he said.

Soon, there will be more room for Four Horsemen to host such events, as the store is in the process of moving to a larger location in the mall, across from FYE.

“It will give us more access to do cooler things,” Davis said.

For instance, the store has one dungeon-themed Dungeons and Dragons room, where those interested can play the fantasy tabletop role-playing game. The new space will have two themed rooms — decorated as a dungeon and a tavern.

“For almost every game in store, we do something with it or organize an event around it,” Davis said. “There’s a lot going on.”

One of the most popular offering is a Pokemon night at 6 p.m. Fridays. Gamers play for free and there are leagues for children, as well as teens and adults.

“Families like to get in on it,” Davis said. “Everyone is more than welcome to play.”

There is no set date for the move’s completion.
