Mon Health names Statler physician of the year

Mon Health Medical Center’s Dr. Kristen Statler was named the hospital’s 2019 Physician of the Year.

Statler is a general and robotic surgeon at Mon Health Medical Center. She also performs vascular procedures. The award was chosen by the hospital’s medical staff and executives.

“Dr. Statler takes excellent care of her patients by going above and beyond for them at an individual level,” said Dr. William McBee, gynecologic oncologist and chief medical director of Mon Health Medical Center. “She improves the lives of our community with her talented skill set and compassionate care. On behalf of the hospital medical staff, I can say we are proud and honored to work with Dr. Statler.”

Statler has been practicing medicine at Mon Health Medical Center for over three years. A native to Morgantown, she received her medical degree from West Virginia University followed by residency training at Charleston Area Medical Center.

“It is a huge honor to be named Mon Health Medical Center’s Physician of the Year,” Statler said. “I am blessed to get to work with an amazing team of physicians, nurses and medical staff who truly care about the people of our community. As a lifelong Monongalian, I enjoy caring for my friends and neighbors on a daily basis. It is truly the people of this community who make my job great.”
