Deckers Creek race
a Morgantown showcase
For some, the escaped python in Sabraton was the big news Saturday, but perhaps unnoticed was the crowd of over 600 runners participating in the Deckers Creek Trail half marathon, running the course from Masontown to the Monongahela River through Sabraton.

This annual event brought runners from 26 states this year. It was a wonderful showcase of Morgantown hospitality with a well-organized troop of volunteers welcoming the racers and area restaurants and stores donating first-rate refreshments: Many racers commented on the generous and delicious fare, and often thanked the volunteers.

The race is a fundraiser for Mon River Trail Conservancy but it is more than that: It is an example of how our community works together and why Morgantown is a good place to live and to visit.

Would PBS give equal
time to family values?
Alabama Public Television chose not to broadcast the Season 22 premiere of “Arthur,” which included the same-sex wedding of beloved elementary school teacher Mr. Ratburn.

Rather than airing the episode as scheduled, APT Director of Programming Mike McKenzie opted to show a rerun from a previous season.

“Parents have trusted Alabama Public Television for more than 50 years to provide children’s programs that entertain, educate and inspire,” Mckenzie tells the site. “More importantly — although we strongly encourage parents to watch television with their children and talk about what they have learned afterwards — parents trust that their children can watch APT without their supervision. We also know that children who are younger than the ‘target’ audience for Arthur also watch the program.”

Children’s shows should not be used as vehicles to promote homosexuality or any other LBGTP issue. It’s a kids show for crying out loud.

Would PBS give equal time for teaching about chastity, the two genders and traditional family values?

Time of reckoning may
be coming for America
It has been said, “a democratic government ran by a constitution will begin to fail at about 250 years.” Many of the veterans, elderly and those who learned civics in school likely agree.

They see this beginning to happen now.

Our younger generations will have no idea about the Constitution and what made our country great because, they are no longer being taught these areas of academics. Today students are being graduated despite being illiterate in reading and math.

I realized I have become a discriminatory person. And I will share why I feel this way. If I was leaving my home country to go to another country in which to live, I would give up my culture to fit its culture and learn its language and how to speak it clear enough for them to understand what I said or am saying.

The reason I would leave my home country would be, because of economic problems, I’m not happy, a controlling masochistic government and I want a different religion. Or possibly, I want to infiltrate my new country’s government and change it into a defunct, socialistic type to bring in my beliefs and change its laws.

I was shocked when I realized the United States has two Muslim women in Congress that were not born in the U.S. I couldn’t fathom these women were voted in office by a country that once believed in God but now struggle with that.

Since, I believe in the Lord, and read the Bible, I understand a country that goes against Israel will fall from the grace of God. When Rep. Ihan Omar, DMinn., and Rashida Harbi Tlaib, D-Mich., spewed anti-Semitic remarks against Israel I sense a time of reckoning could be coming.
