Drug task force arrests two following separate searches

MORGANTOWN — Two Michigan men are in jail after the Mon Metro Drug Task Force found drugs in two home searches.

Treayane Issac Johnson, 41, of Detroit, and Demonte Larry Thompkins, 26, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan are each charged with two counts of possession with intent. Grosse Pointe is adjacent to Detroit.

The task force searched 24 Savannah Street, in Westover, and found 172 Oxycodone pills, a large amount of money and an ounce of heroin hidden on Thompkins, a criminal complaint stated.

Digital scales, zip lock bags and other items generally used in the sale of drugs were found at the residence, the complaint said.

Johnson ran from the task force but was captured, according to his criminal complaint. A search of 203 Chloe Lane turned up 18 bags of fentanyl and 2.5 ounces of cocaine.

Both men were arraigned by Magistrate Darris Summers in Monongalia County Magistrate Court on Wednesday. Bail was set at $30,000 cash or surety. As of Wednesday afternoon neither man had posted bond and were held in North Central Regional Jail.
