Preston boys’ basketball team comes up short in 79-70 loss to Lewis County

WESTON — Preston High fell behind 24-5 in the first quarter against Lewis County on Tuesday evening and struggled to keep up the rest of the game, leading to a 79-70 loss.

Corey Pyles had a game for the Knights (0-3), though, collecting 24 points and making four 3-pointers in the process. Nick Smith netted 17 points as well.

Preston will play its home opener at 6 p.m. on Saturday against Tucker County.
