Nathan Swaniger rushes for 240 yards and 3 scores in Clay-Battelle’s 28-18 win over Valley-Wetzel

PINE GROVE — Nathan Swaniger rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns and scored another on a kickoff return to lead Clay-Battelle (2-1) to a 28-18 win against Valley-Wetzel.
Swaniger scored on runs of 82, 17 and five, and had an 80-yard kickoff return.
“He had an amazing night,” said Clay-Battelle coach Ryan Wilson. “I told him he had some ESPN highlight runs. I’m running out of adjectives to describe how good he ran tonight.”
The game was tied at 6 at halftime before Swaniger and the Cee Bees scored twice, converting on two 2-point conversions to take a commanding lead.
After Valley-Wetzel scored to cut the lead to 22-12, Swaniger ran the ensuing kickoff back to pretty much put the game away.
“I know in my coaching career I’ve had guys who have had some big games,” Wilson said. “But this was one heck of a big game for us.”

The Cee-Bees will host Tygarts Valley at 7 p.m. next Friday.
