Dr. Randall Sherbs

Dr. Randall L. Sherbs, 68, of Richmond, Va. and formerly of Charleston, Morgantown and Fairmont,  died Saturday, August 18, 2018, after a brief illness.
Born in Fairmont,  on September 26, 1949, he was the son of the late R. Nyal and Betty Negie Sherbs.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vicki Dotson Sherbs; his stepdaughter, Amy (Jay) Slusher, of Flat Rock, N.C.; his son, Daniel (Elasa Tiernan) Sherbs, of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandsons, Wil and Ben Slusher; and a grand-daughter, Aliyah Sherbs-Tiernan; his brother, Terrill Sherbs, of Fairmont,  and three sisters, Cindy (Frank) Curry, of Bruceton Mills,  Victoria Varsak, of Newark, Ohio, Melinda Sherbs (Michael Cleemput) of Pataskala, Ohio; a brother-in-law J.J. (Karen) Dotson, of Morgantown; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Randall was a graduate of Fairmont State University and earned his master’s degree and doctorate in English from West Virginia University. While in graduate school he was a Fellow at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, and a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi.

A memorial gathering was held in Richmond.
