Woman identified in fatal motorcycle accident

MORGANTOWN — Kaylen Garlow, of Fairmont, was identified as the woman killed in a motorcycle accident last week.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department identified the 21-year-old in a press release Monday.
Deputies responded to the accident on Stewartstown Road, near the Hampton Center, just after midnight Friday.
Jeremy Hoopengardner, 24, of Morgantown, was driving the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and Garlow was his passenger.
He told deputies there was a pothole in the turn he was going around and accident reconstructionists are still working to determine if that was a contributing factor, Chief Deputy Al Kisner said.
As the investigation is on-going no charges were filed and any charges will depend on what the investigation reveals, he said.
Kisner said he doesn’t know if Garlow was wearing a helmet, but it’s West Virginia State law so she probably was.
