Morgantown plans to build retaining wall on Jacobs Street

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown City Engineer Damien Davis said the city is working on a fix for Jacobs Street, which is closed due to a slip.
Jacobs Street is located in the city’s 5th Ward, between Cornell Avenue and College Avenue.
According to Davis, Potesta & Associates is designing a retaining wall to address the problem. The hillside below the road gave way impacting a section of the short street and forcing its closure to through traffic.
He explained that the city recently offered comment on the original design and is awaiting final drawings from Potesta & Associates.
Davis said the work is expected to cost about $150,000.
