Suspect arrested during Brockway Avenue burglary, another still sought

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown Police have charged one man with burglary and another is wanted for the crime, after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress June 12 on Brockway Avenue.

According to a press release: At about 11:57 p.m. June 12, police arrived at 261 Brockway Ave., where they found the door to one of the apartments forced open with a report of the suspects still being inside the apartment. Officers entered and found a victim who reported that Dylan and Randy Yoders broke into her apartment and assaulted her while attempting to take items of her personal property. The victim reported that she was able get away from the attackers and call 911. She had visible signs of a physical assault and was treated at the scene.


Officers found Randy Yoders in another apartment in the building, and he was taken into custody. After searching the apartment, officers found another victim who reported that Yoders forced his way into the apartment just prior to officers’ arrival.
The victims reported that Dylan Yoders fled the area on foot.
Randy Yoders, 28, of Maidsville, was transported to the police department, where he was charged with burglary. He has refused to be processed and claimed injury because of the struggle during the commission of this incident. Yoders was transported to Ruby Medical Center, where he was released following a medical screening and is being held on a $50,000.00 secured bond.
Dylan Yoders, 24, of Maidsville, is wanted for burglary.
