Ohio woman charged with murder of 67-year-old man

MORGANTOWN — A woman suspected of murdering a Monongalia county man April 22 has been arrested and charged.

Elizabeth Chinn

Monongalia County Sheriff Perry Palmer said Elizabeth A. Chinn, 32, of South Point, Ohio, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Timothy Pahl, 67.

Witnesses told investigators that Chinn confessed to shooting Pahl during a burglary at Pahl’s Old Stewartstown Road home, a press release stated. Additionally, evidence discovered during the investigation and statements by Chinn to law enforcement match the witness statements that Pahl confronted her while she was robbing his home so she shot and killed him.

Chinn has a previous armed robbery conviction in West Virginia.

Charges for post-crime offenses are also pending against Elizabeth Hartley, 25, of Grafton, and Glenn Weaver, 25, of Morgantown, Palmer said. He did not specify what the two would be charged with.

Moriah Lari Weaver, 42, of Fairmont, was arrested with the three, but Palmer said she is not being charged. She is charged with several crimes including felony conspiracy and possession with intent in Pennsylvania.

The three are being held at Luzeme County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania pending extradition, Palmer said.
