MORGANTOWN — The Morgantown Police Department released an update regarding the pedestrian accident on Patteson Drive on Feb. 1 that resulted in the death of Leah Berhanu.
20-year-old Michelle Gelada of New York was arrested and charged with negligent homicide after police investigators found that she ran a red light at the intersection of Morrill Way and Patteson Drive and struck and killed Berhanu. Gelada is currently pending arraignment.
Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston said that the case is closed and no further information will be available as the case awaits court disposition.
