CHARLESTON — The Senate Finance Committee gave its thumbs up Jan. 24 to the governor’s bill to increase jobs by expanding access to career and technical education and sent it on to the full Senate.

The committee members approved a new version of SB 284 that made some technical tweaks to the bill that came out of Senate Education on Tuesday and discussed some potential flaws they hope to address before a floor vote next week.

The members also took up the governor’s state employee pay raise bill, SB 267, but laid it over after some questions were raised.
