WVU programs review details released

BY MIKE NOLTING During a Campus Conversation Tuesday, West Virginia University officials laid out more program review details in connection with efforts to slice millions of dollars from current operations. WVU Associate Provost Mark Gavin said program reviews will include data from self-surveys from academic units, financial performance, and student enrollment. Wilson, former associate provost for Academic Personnel at WVU, will conduct the Morgantown Municipal Band when it performs its annual Independence Day concert outside the front of the WVU Creative Arts Center at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4. This concert marks the 33rd anniversary of the beginning of the series, which, except during the COVID pandemic, has been continuous since 1990. West Virginia University’s Board of Governors Friday approved a tuition increase of about 3%, signed off on a $1.2 billion budget plan that includes cuts and the use of reserves and endorsed a merger of the Reed College of Media with the College of Creative Arts. A Monongalia County resident’s punch recipe won the state contest held in conjunction with West Virginia’s 160th birthday party. Gov.
