University High football lineman Luke Braham announces verbal commitment to Virginia Tech

MORGANTOWN – University High School 2027 offensive lineman Luke Braham announced his verbal commitment to play for Virginia Tech over the weekend.

After landing a handful of offers during the spring from programs at the G5 level, Braham saw his recruitment begin to spike in late April when Rutgers extended an offer while he was on campus. Northwestern and Wake Forest offered in early May before Virginia Tech and West Virginia decided to move on the 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect.

“He came on late, but he’s made some noise quickly,” UHS head coach Eric Snyder said. “He has grown tremendously as an offensive lineman physically and talent-wise. Once some of the Power-4 programs saw that growth, the opportunities opened up for him.”

According to 247Sports, Braham ranks as the top overall recruit in the state and the No. 73 OT in the country.

On the field, Braham has the build and look of a traditional offensive tackle, but he wasn’t always manning a spot in the trenches, as he initially joined UHS as a wideout his freshman season.

That gives Braham an ability to use quick feet and body control to be a force up front.

Luke will play a crucial role on the offensive and defensive lines for the Hawks in the upcoming 2026 season.

“He’s also become a great leader up front for us,” Snyder said. “He’s hungry to work, and he practices and plays hard. I’m confident he will make the most of his opportunity and be successful doing so.”
