Our beloved mother, Naomi Frances Boltzer Morgan passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, surrounded by her devoted daughters.
She was born on June 4, 1937, in Pittsburgh to the late Leo Blotzer and Norah McGlynn Blotzer.
Naomi began her career as a nurse before moving with her husband of 53 years, Edwin Morgan, to Morgantown in 1964, as Ed embarked on his long and distinguished medical career with West Virginia University. After becoming a mother in 1965, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her two daughters, Katherine and Theresa, with boundless love, patience, and steady guidance.
Throughout their marriage, Naomi and Ed embraced adventure, living for periods of time in Washington DC, Texas, Wales, Germany, and Zimbabwe as his medical work took them away or abroad. No matter where life led, they always returned home to Morgantown, the community they cherished.
Naomi was an extraordinarily kind and gentle soul who loved animals deeply and held her family at the center of her world. She was endlessly proud of her grandchildren and offered unwavering encouragement and support to all who knew her. A true and faithful friend, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Slavic and her husband, Richard, and Theresa Goldsholle and her husband, Gary. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Evan and Andrew Goldsholle, and Kevin Slavic. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin, in 2017.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Becky, Anita, Lisa and the rest of her wonderful caregivers, and to the staff of Madison Center, for the compassionate care and support they provided to Naomi.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com
