Edward Allen Helmick, 64, passed away in his home in Morgantown Saturday, November 22, 2025, due to complications of cancer. Born April 21, 1961, in Morgantown, Ed’s life was a testament to his kind and friendly nature, which touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Ed was the beloved son of Hayward Helmick and Carol Furman Helmick, who survives him.
His warmth and compassion were a beacon of light for his family, including his daughter, Lindsey; his caring sister, Pamela Lynn Yost; his adoring nephews and their spouses, Lee Yost (Sarah) and Evan Yost (Kady); and his great- niece, Riley Yost. Ed’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through them.
A time of visitation will be held in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, WV 26501, Wednesday, December 3, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. A private interment was held at Mt. Union Cemetery in Morgantown.
