Daniel Scott Boring

Daniel Scott “Danny” Boring, 53, of Masontown, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
He was born October 24, 1972, in Morgantown, a son of the late Ray “Junior” and Mary Elizabeth Menear Boring.
Danny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He graduated from West Preston High School Class of 1990.
Danny owned and operated Danny’s Country Cookin’ with the help of his family. He was previously employed by Greer Industries.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hands-on man and approached every project with pride, and the satisfaction of working with his hands. He had a love for animals of all kinds. He was always helping those in need. If something needed fixing, he was the one everyone called, and he never hesitated. What mattered most to him though, were the people around him.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. His legacy lives on in the structures he built, the lessons he taught, and the countless moments he shared with those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Melissa “Missy” Boring of Masontown; two daughters, Cortney Stuchell and husband Matthew of Reedsville, and Hannah Boring and fiance Camron Sargent of Kingwood; grandchildren, Braylenn, Brantley and Emmett; two sisters, Mary Ann Varner and husband Vernon of Kingwood, and his twin, Vanessa Rossetti of Arthurdale; two brothers, Robert Boring and wife Janet of Maidsville, and Patrick Boring and wife Tammy of Masontown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Boring.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 1 and Tuesday, December 2. Visitation continues Wednesday, December 3, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. time of service in the Pleasant Grove Church in Herring. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
