MaryAnn Guido Barton, a lifelong resident of Westover, passed away early morning Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Rosewood Center Nursing Facility in Grafton, WV where she had been residing for the past year.
MaryAnn was the middle of three daughters born to the late Frank and Mary Guido on March 18, 1952. MaryAnn attended Riverside school and graduated in 1970 from Morgantown High School. MaryAnn received Bachelors’ and Masters Degrees in Elementary Education from West Virginia University, and she taught in the Monongalia County school system for over 30 years.
MaryAnn was married in 1988 to Sanford “Sandy” Barton. Both were avid WVU sports fans and enjoyed watching WVU football and basketball games.
MaryAnn is survived by one daughter, Dena Marie Barton of Colorado; and one son, Frank Joel Barton of Morgantown. She is also survived by her two sisters, Linda Guido of Westover, and Julie Lesaca (Tim) of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sandy; her parents, Frank and Mary; and by her grandparents, Salvatore and Angelina Guido.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Rosewood Center in Grafton for the love and care shown to MaryAnn.
