Linda Jane Sutherland, 70, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Graham, Wash. Born September 5, 1955, in Bainbridge, Md., she lived across the country but especially cherished her time in Morgantown, and the Seattle/Tacoma area.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Bill Pixler; brothers, Michael and Stephen Sutherland; children, Jessica Anderson White, Janelle Mason Smego, Brian Wallace (Francisca), and Cara Wallace (Jason Richardson); and 10 beloved grandchildren: Ethan and Meghan White; Tyler, Teddy and Hannah Smego; Lydia and Lucas Wallace; and Evan, Henry and Norah Richardson.
Linda was the proud former owner of Pizazz Dance Academy in Morgantown (2000-2012), where she inspired countless children through the joy of dance. She remained devoted to the Pizazz family, continuing to attend recitals and support dancers long after retiring.
A lifelong animal lover, Linda also volunteered with many animal-friendly causes, especially those involving cats.
An open house style celebration of life will be held at Pizazz Dance Academy in Morgantown from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 1. All who knew and loved Linda are welcome to stop by and share memories and celebrate the incredible life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Linda Sutherland Memorial Dance Fund via Venmo @LSMemorialFund, for Pizazz dancers who need extra support to follow their dreams – a cause close to her heart.
