Sylvia Carole Rhodes, 87, of Martinsburg, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Berkeley Medical Center.
Born December 29, 1937, in Morgantown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Martin Jamison and Gladys Iona Zearley Jamison.
Sylvia spent her life primarily as a homemaker, though she did teach water safety in her spare time.
She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg.
She is survived by her son, Neal Martin Rhodes and wife Sara of Williamstown, Vt.; and four grandchildren, Neal “Martin” Rhodes II, Nora Virginia Rhodes, Julia Evelyn Rhodes, and Lily Margaret Rhodes.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Irvin Rhodes; a sister, Dolores J. Ware, and two brothers, John V. Jamison and Harold L. Jamison.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, in the First Presbyterian Church, 220 S. Queen Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401, with Dr. John Cushwa officiating.
Interment will be in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
