Charles Edward Bennett Jr.

Charles Edward “Chuck” Bennett Jr., 73, of Moatsville, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in his home. He was born in Morgantown August 25, 1952, a son of the late Charles E. Bennett Sr. and Quadroue Lee Nicklow Bennett.
Charles is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judith Ann “Judy” Perkins Bennett, whom he married October 6, 1984; son, Jason Barlow Bennett (Christy) of Cameron, N.C.; stepmother, Patricia Bennett of Morgantown; grandson, Tyler David Austin (Tabetha) of Lillington, N.C.; two great- grandchildren, Barlow Hayes Austin and Emma Grace Austin; three siblings: Joan Sinclair of Fort White, Fla.; Debbie Hayhurst of Marian, Fla.; and Chris Bennett (Crystal) of Morgantown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He had a long career in mining including coal, silver, and gold.
Chuck was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman all together. He was always very active and a hard worker. Chuck enjoyed traveling, especially out West or visiting his son and family in North Carolina.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 96 in Belington.
Chuck loved his family and spending time with them.
Family and friends will be received in the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, 950 George Washington Highway, Grafton, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 20, for a Celebration of Life gathering. Graveside inurnment will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, September 22, at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, where full military honors will be accorded.
