Mary Alice Norman, born March 31, 1941, in Fairmont, was called home Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Morgantown. Embodying the true essence of a loving and friendly soul, she spent her life brightening the world around her.
A dedicated nurse, Mary served her community with unwavering compassion at Westinghouse and Fairmont General Hospital. Her nurturing spirit not only touched her patients, but also her colleagues creating an enduring legacy of kindness.
Mary’s joy was most evident when surrounded by her cherished family. She leaves behind her adored son, Ronald Townsend (Melissa); her steadfast brothers, Clifford (Pat), and Jack Radcliff; her nephew, Roy Radcliff; and her beloved grandchildren, Cassandra Prather (Nicholas), and Holly Laney (Quentin), who will continue to honor her memory by living out the values she instilled in them.
In addition to her parents, William and Hannah Radcliff, Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Norman; her sister-in-law, Joan Radcliff; and her son, Donald Lynn Townsend.
Mary’s warmth and generosity will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private service will be held at Hagans Cemetery.
