Delivery-only food pantry opening soon in Newburg

NEWBURG — A new one-of-a-kind food pantry could be open in Newburg by the first of November. Nichole Larew, director of Newburg Grows Food Pantry, said it will be a delivery-only operation, delivering to people in Newburg, Tunnelton, Fellowsville and those in between. “I feel like it’s a need overlooked. Data shows W.Va. foster care system overloaded

BY CARRIE HODOUSEK CHARLESTON — A new report conducted by the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy shows West Virginia places the most children in foster care compared to any state in the country, with four times as many kids in the system per capita as the United States as a whole. Mountain Line to hold service elimination public hearings

Service on Routes 14 Mountain Heights and 15 Grafton Road will be eliminated beginning Jan. 15, 2024. Service is now being provided by the RideMon service. Mountain Line’s Micro Transit service called RideMon is available to the residents in the areas of Routes 14 and 15.
