Top 25 recruit Miles Sadler commits to WVU men’s hoops team

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge landed his highest rated recruit yet in his tenure with the Mountaineers in Glendale (Az.) Bella Vista 2026 point guard Miles Sadler.

The 23rd-rated prospect nationally, according to Rivals, Sadler narrowed his choices down to West Virginia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland, USC and UCLA prior to picking the Mountaineers.

Sadler, 6-foot-0, 165-pounds, became a priority target for Hodge and company and West Virginia assistant Yusuf Ali had a connection with him after coaching him when he was 14-years old. The Mountaineers were consistent in their efforts and that ultimately paid off with his pledge.

“The constant calls and consistency led me to believing that this was the school for me,” he said.

Sadler played this summer with the AZ Unity program on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. The four-star averaged 13.8 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.3 steals per game and is the fourth rated prospect nationally at the point guard position.

Sadler also becomes the highest-rated prospect to pick the Mountaineers since former McDonald’s All-American Oscar Tshiebwe committed to WVU in 2018.

The four-star guard took an official visit to Morgantown for the TCU football game and also made trips to both Oklahoma and Tennessee. But West Virginia was able to win the battle in the end.

“I chose West Virginia because of the way the coaching staff has instilled a trust in me and a family like structure in the program,” he said.

Sadler joins his teammate four-star Bella Vista Prep (Co.) big Aliou Dioum, as well as Christ School 2026 point guard Kingston Whitty as members of the current recruiting class.

The Mountaineers will have seven players exiting the program at the end of the year and the addition of Sadler gives the basketball program a major building block moving forward.
