Sharon Ann "Sherry" Fox, 79, of Morgantown, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
She was born on January 18, 1947, in Fairview, West Virginia, to the late Harold Stephen and Edith Forsythe Walters and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many people whose lives she touched with her kindness and steady presence.
Sherry was the beloved wife of Dana Fox; and a loving mother to Stephenie Torres and her husband, Robert, Thomas Grant Fox Sr. and his wife, Kim, Michael Fox and Brian Fox and his wife, Dawn. She was a cherished sister to Robert Walters and Mark Bigler. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and pride throughout her life. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Stephen Walters and Edith Victoria Forsythe Walters; and her brother, John Walters.
Sherry graduated from Mountaineer High School in Davis, and later built a long and respected career at the WVU College of Arts and Science, where she worked as a Computer Data Processor. She was known for her dependability, her strong work ethic, and the quiet dedication she brought to everything she did. Her years of service reflected the same care and commitment that she showed in every part of her life.
Faith was an important part of Sherry's life. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and also took part in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Quilting Group. Through her church and its fellowship, she formed meaningful friendships and shared her time and talents with others. Her gentle spirit and warm heart were evident to all who knew her, and she found comfort and strength in her faith community.
Above all, Sherry loved taking care of her grandchildren. She treasured time spent with them and found great happiness in being present for their lives. Her family was the center of her world, and she will be remembered for the love, encouragement, and unwavering support she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the many memories she created and in the family she so dearly loved.

Family and friends are invited to gather in McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12 p.m. Following the service, Sherry will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
