Jane Phillips Stewart, 81, of Mount Morris, passed away at 4:51 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Morgantown Heights, Morgantown. Jane was born February 11, 1944, in Wayne Township, Pa., a daughter of the late John Phillips and Gaynelle Edgar Phillips Ponzoo. Her foster mother, Esther Furman, also preceded her in death.
Jane enjoyed watching TV, bowling and reading.
In her working years she was an LPN at Monongalia General Hospital for over 30 years.
Her husband, Kenneth Edward Stewart, whom she married November 28, 1964, died December 4, 2018.
Surviving are one daughter, Virginia and husband Randy Johnson of Rockwood, Pa.; one son, David and wife Beth Stewart of Fairview; three grandchildren, Rebecca and Allison Johnson, Halee and husband Jimmy McKinney; one great-granddaughter, Paige McKinney; one brother, Chuck Ponzoo; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are four sisters, Carol Keller, Marlene Webb, Betty Jean Wise and Joann Haring; seven brothers, Jack, John, Jerry and James Phillips, James and Henry Lee Ponzoo.
A visitation for Jane will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 324 Mount Morris Road, Mount Morris, PA 15349, Shane M. Ayers, director. Pastor Joseph Adams will officiate the service. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mount Morris.
