
Willard David “Willie” Deavers, 87, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, in his home. He was born July 10, 1937, in Clairton, a son of the late Orville Deavers, Sr. and Carrie Crissman Deavers.
Willie served his country honorably with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a truck driver with the Teamsters Local 639 in Washington, D.C.
In his spare time, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Fox News and Westerns, and taking a drive to discover new places.
He is survived by a son, Alan Deavers; brothers, John Deavers and wife Joy, Orville Deavers, Jr. and wife Doris; sister, Bonnie Collins and husband Paul; grandchildren, Scott Gould and Shawntae Deavers; sister-in-law, Norma Deavers; along with five great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karin Deavers; brothers, James Deavers and wife Louise, Fred Deavers; sisters, Kay Baker and husband Jim, Bertha Cotherman, and Cora Crissman.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 11, and again from 10 until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
Following the service, Willie will be laid to rest beside his wife at Davis Cemetery.
